Geoparc News

Once again we have come up with some good ideas (we hope so) in order to offer you and your family an unforgettable day in the UNESCO World Heritage Bletterbach area. In addition to a range of different hiking tours and guided GEOTours, we have scheduled a series of events, too… many things are already booked, some others are currently being processed!

01.05.2022 - 31.10.2022

My personal tour

The next family outing should be something special? A day that children and their parents, grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles will remember for a long time?

Then take the opportunity to book your very own GEOPARC guide for your private tour. You are among yourself, so we can specifically address your wishes: What do you really want to see? Which topics are of particular interest to you? How long should the tour last? Do the children need an incentive to explore the gorge?

This offer is of course not only for families, but also for you and your partner, your friends, your employees …

For your personal tour you can contact us here.

Stone and wild herbs

A variety of wild herbs prosper in the GEOPARC Bletterbach, and their different benefits in everyday life are at the core of this hiking tour themed “rocks and wild herbs”.

Bletterbach – source of strenght and power

Bletterbach – source of strenght and power: Leave behind the stress of every day life and sense the stimulating effect of natural elements: during this excursion with Kneipp-coach Rita Bodner you will experience the healing power of nature and of water. A lot of tipps will help you to worry less about every-day-stress.

Outlook into the past

After the musical opening of a very special evening in the GEOPARC Bletterbach, we will walk to the panoramic point above the Visitors Centre. There, we however won’t call your attention to the deep gorge, but invite you to look at the dark sky: thanks to two telescopes you will see the planets Saturn and Jupiter as well as some of the most beautiful constellations… and maybe – with a bit of luck – also some falling stars.
The astronomer David Gruber and the geologist Benno Baumgartner from the Nature Museum South Tyrol will explain you the origins, the characteristics and the particularities of stars and planets.

Start 9 pm from the Visitor Centre.

The new saurian trail

The Saurian Trail takes you on a journey to the Permian, about 260 million years ago, a time during which the rocks and fossils of the Bletterbach Gorge and the Dolomites were formed.
Families with children, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, people out for an easy stroll, and also more adventurous hikers are invited to explore these footprints from the dim recesses of time and learn more about the creatures which created them.
They can compare ancient plants with modern-day species, and even study micro-fossils.
