GEO TOURS
Suggested hikes
Steep rock walls, roaring waterfalls and a great play of colours, fossil plant remains, petrified traces of dinosaurs and minerals make this hiking tour through the GEOPARC Bletterbach a very special experience – whether you want to explore the Bletterbach gorge and its surroundings on your own or accompanied and inspired by one of our expert GEOPARC guides.
There are many different possibilities to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site: short walks and hikes for families with children and seniors, themed hiking trails, programmes for children, educational hiking tours for mixed groups and different offers for school classes.
All the tours mentioned above as guided hiking tours can also be undertaken without a guide.
Simply follow the poster panels along the paths providing information about the geological features and the valuable funds of carbonised plants and woods, petrified microorganisms, shellfish species and cephalopods as well as about the abundant traces of different saurian species.
Important: Helmets (free rental at the Visitor Center and the GEOMuseum), hiking boots and proper hiking clothing are absolutely required!
