Category: medium to difficult

Route: From the car park first walk further along the road in the direction of Oberradein. At the fork go right up to Inn Nigglhof. From there take footpath Nr.7. When you reach the forest road, follow it upwards and after a short time turn right on to footpath B – Blauweg – and follow it as far as the Alpine hut Gurndin. From here the ascent of the Weisshorn starts on footpath H. There is a magnificent all-round view from the summit. Return via the lovely Zirmersteig, signposted W, first along the upper edge of the alpine meadows Lahner below the Weisshorn, then via the chalk pits of the Bletterbach back to Radein.
Special tip: In the geological museum of Radein there are display cases with scientifically-based, easily comprehensible explanations, which take the visitor through millions of years of the earth’s history, and show them the origins and geological evolution of the Dolomites. A vertical graphic display gives insight into the sequence of rock strata and sediment of the Bletterbach area, ranging from Bozen quartz porphyry to Gröden sandstone, Bellerophon and Werfen strata, and sarl dolomite.
