Enjoy the gorge from two different perspectives

Visitor Centre– Bletterbach gorge – geological museum Radein – Visitor Centre

The guided tour will start at the Visitor Centre Geoparc Bletterbach at Aldein, where the group members will gain an insight into the origin of the various geological strata of the Bletterbach gorge. After the museum visit you will descend to the lower valley, where you will see the Bozen quartz porphyry and the Gröden sandstone. At the waterfall (Butterloch) we will leave the gorge and continue our tour on the E5 (the European long- distance path) until Radein. This path offers various panoramic views of the Bletterbach gorge and of the near mountains. After a lunch break we will visit the geological museum in Radein which hosts various fossils that were found in the gorge: tracks of prehistoric reptiles, fossilised fish, seashell and plants. Afterwards we will return to the Visitor Centre.
